Experience The Soothing Embrace of Floatation Therapy.
Floatation Therapy
What is Floatation Therapy?
Floatation therapy is a therapeutic practice that involves floating in a specially designed lightproof, soundproof, and temperature controlled floatation pod filled with water saturated with Epsom salt, which increases buoyancy and allows you to float effortlessly in the pod.
When you enter the tank and lie down, the dense saltwater supports your body, making you feel weightless. The pods are designed to minimize external sensory input, this sensory deprivation can lead to a deep sense of relaxation, introspection, and a feeling of detachment from the outside world. The water’s temperature is strategically chosen to match body temperature, making it difficult to sense where your body ends and the water begins, this allows for major physical pain relief and mental clarity.
Why Should I Float?
Floatation therapy offers a sanctuary of stillness in a world of constant motion. Immerse yourself in warm, buoyant water infused with Epsom salts, effortlessly floating away stress and tension. Discover a moment of calm where your mind can find clarity, and your body can experience true relaxation. Whether seeking relief from everyday pressures or a meditative escape, floating provides a unique haven for your well-being.

Following a life-altering accident in 1987, Brent endured a profound struggle with chronic pain, depression, and the aftermath of a traumatic head injury. This experience fueled his determination to seek relief, and through sheer perseverance, Brent found solace in floating therapy, experiencing a pain-free existence for the first time in decades.
This profound change inspired him to open the R.E.S.T. Centre. Drawing from his personal journey and deep expertise in float therapy, Brent offers invaluable guidance on utilizing the floatation pod to enhance well-being.

FAQ’s on Float Therapy
-
Floatation Therapy was invented by Dr. John C. Lily who was an American physician, neuroscientist, psychoanalyst, psychonaut, philosopher, writer and inventor.
-
We generally provide everything you need (earplugs, towels, shampoo & body wash). You may wish to bring a brush, bathing suit, and a safe place to put glasses or contact lenses while you are in the tank. We provide a post float room complete with a make up station, blowdryer and mirror.
-
A. We recommend the following to all floaters both new and experienced:
– Do not drink caffeine (coffee, tea, pop or sports drinks) 3 hours prior to floating
– Do not shave any body parts the day of floating as the salt water can irritate freshly shaven skin
– Eat a light meal 1 hour to 90 minutes prior to floating
-
Absolutely! Floating provides a gravity free environment which is great for pregnant women. This unique position helps relieve the weight of the baby on the mother and is great for those suffering from lower back pain. It is recommended that a physician be consulted if you have any concerns or are in your third trimester of pregnancy.
-
Yes, simply follow the same protocol you would for a swimming pool.
-
Another benefit of these pods is that you control your environment. Even people with extreme claustrophobia have reported no problems during their float. You may choose to leave the door open or close it when you begin to feel comfortable.
-
The water in our pods is extremely buoyant so it is very possible that you could fall asleep. Some people love to sleep during their float and you should feel free to do the same.
-
We recommend that you gain experience at the 1 hour mark before increasing your time. Once you are familiar with the pods than we can discuss an increase in time.
-
Our float rooms are completely private so you can feel secure about leaving your items beside the pod while you float.
-
The pod doors are 100% in your control, you may get out at anytime without reason. Keep in mind however that the 60 minutes usually goes by a lot quicker than you can imagine.
-
Absolutely not! The magnesium sulfate actually makes your skin extremely silky soft. You will, however, absorb some of the Epsom salt so we recommend drinking plenty of water after you float. A water dispenser is available in our waiting area for your convenience.
-
The water is fully filtered 3-5 times between each float, which is passed through an intricate filtration system. The high concentration of magnesium sulfate and small amount of disinfectant make it cleaner than a pool and nearly impossible for microorganisms to survive.
-
While there is no guarantee that the salt won’t strip some colour from your hair, we recommend that you check if the water running through your hair in the shower at home is fully clear. If there is still some color coming out you should wait a couple of more days/showers. We suggest that you talk to your hairdresser about doing this.
